Why this site exists

Finding a good plumber, roofer, or HVAC company shouldn't take an afternoon of scrolling and second-guessing. Most directories run on whoever paid the most that month. That's not useful when your water heater just died.

Chuck built this site to fix that. Each metro page features only companies that meet a real bar — reputation, customer care, and a clear local presence. If a pro slips on those standards, they come off the list. Simple as that.

We cover eleven trade categories across America's top 75 metros. Plumbing, HVAC, roofing, electricians, house cleaning, pest control, junk removal, handymen, pressure washing, appliance repair, and garage doors. If your city is here, the names you see are ones Chuck would call himself.

    Our standards

Four things every company has to clear before they make it onto Chuck's Picks.

    Proven Reputation

We start with public review signals across Google and other reputable sources. A pro needs a consistent track record, not a handful of recent five-star reviews.

    Consistent Workmanship

We look for patterns in customer feedback: clean job sites, clear pricing, on-time arrivals, and work that holds up. One-off complaints happen — recurring ones disqualify.

    Local Roots

Chuck favors companies that actually serve the metro they claim. National lead-gen middlemen and call centers don't make the cut.

    Customer Care

How a company handles a bad day matters more than a good day. We weight responsiveness, follow-through, and how disputes get resolved.

    How we stay independent

Companies can pay for an enhanced profile — a verified badge, photos, and a direct link to their site. What they can't buy is a spot on the list. The pick is the pick. Enhanced profiles are clearly marked, and the ranking criteria don't change based on whether a company pays.

We also don't run pop-ups, sell visitor data, or hand out leads to the highest bidder. If a company shouldn't be on the list, it isn't. If they belong, they're here whether they pay us or not.
